Volunteer Opportunities

Several volunteer opportunities are available in the Mansfield area.

Volunteers are needed for:

Historical society

Would you like to help preserve Mansfield’s history? If so, please come help and contribute volunteer hours at the Mansfield Historical Museum and Heritage Center. Hospice aid

Phoenix Hospice is seeking compassionate individuals to provide friendship support to individuals with life-limiting illnesses and their families in the Mansfield/eastern Tarrant County/western Dallas County area. Youth Enrichment

The T.M. Moody Enrichment Program at Bethlehem Baptist Church seeks individuals that enjoy working with children and youth in kindergarten through sixth grade. Caring volunteers are needed to assist with homework, crafts, sports and a host of other educational and fun activities. If you have at least one hour per week to help a child between 4-6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, call Teresa Washington for more details at (817) 473-1236.

Girl Scouts

We are looking for new faces within the Mansfield/South Arlington community. We hae our monthly service team meetings the second Tuesday of every month beginning in September. If you are interested, call Kathy at (817) 557-1913.

Covenant Hospice

Covenant Hospice and Palliative Care seeks compassionate, caring people to serve as volunteers for patients and their families. Volunteers serve in a variety of ways with hospice patients, but primarily they serve as friends. For more information, call Bekki at (817) 735-8741.

Castle Peak

If you’ve considered becoming a hospice volunteer, call Castle Peak Hospice for its current schedule.

A volunteer services group is forming in this area. Volunteers are urgently needed for assignments with or without patient contact.

All ages, including children, as well as pets are needed for two hours a week. Daytime, evening and weekend slots are available.

Ministry center

Harvesting International Ministry Center seeks volunteers from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. The center operates a nonprofit Christian food bank based in Mansfield.

Nursing home

The Mansfield Nursing Center seeks volunteers to help with activities. Volunteers would visit bed-bound residents, play cards with residents, sing and play instruments, and lead group activities, exercise and the garden club.

Numerous time slots are available, even if it’s only for an hour a month. Many residents have no family and look forward to visits from volunteers.

All Star Equestrian

All Star Equestrian needs help grooming, tacking, leading and sidewalking horses for its therapeutic horseback riding program. Children and adults with disabilities ride at the nonprofit center, located five miles west of downtown Mansfield. Call (817) 477-1437.
