The time of year is here.
Three of the Mansfield teams left Tuesday night with a win, and another dropped a game in what is one of the tougher starts to a season in recent memory.
All four boys teams will be in action today at the fourth annual MISD Spring Creek Holiday Classic. All games will be played at Legacy High School, with the first game today tipping off 2:30 p.m.
On the Tuesday night before the Thanksgiving break, the Mansfield Hockey Team was on the ice. In the Nov. 25 matchup, Mansfield (7-3) escaped the Duncanville Dr Pepper Stars Center with a 4-3 shootout win over Coppell.
The effort was there, the heart was there, the chances were there, if only the points were there at the end.
Any day now, Disney has to contact Mansfield coach Jeff Hulme and the athletic department because this is a made-for-television movie that could air on ABC at the start of the next year’s fall season.
Mansfield’s recipe for success in the playoffs has been simple: Depend on a sturdy defense and a heavy load of tailback Stepfan Taylor.
WHITE SETTLEMENT — Quarterback Scotty Young threw for 262 yards and four touchdowns as Denton Ryan knocked Timberview out of the playoffs with a 49-14 win Nov. 21 at Brewer Stadium.
The boys hit the floor Tuesday night right before the Thanksgiving break, with three basketball teams coming away with a win and the other getting outgunned by a final shot in overtime.
With a shortened week, three teams came out a winner in Monday and Tuesday’s games in girls basketball.
